Delegations For Dialogue hosts conference on China at Sciences Po

Asialyst Delegations For Dialogue Conference

On the 23rd of February 2016 Delegations For Dialogue hosted a conference at Sciences Po, Paris. The conference was organised in partnership with the Asialyst and had the title "Is China's urban society ready to change the world?"

After more than thirty years of market socialism and accelerated modernisation, today’s Chinese urban society presents an emerging middle-class diluted by wider social and geographical inequities. With an aging population coupled with the end of the  one-child  policy, how is this society facing social and demographical challenges ? To what extent have urban Chinese been embracing and consuming Western culture ? How are they adopting new technologies and all the current digital transformation the world is witnessing ? The conference, which was organised in partnership with Asialyst, invited three panel speakers to help address these questions.
